JAKARTA - Former Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), Miranda Swaray Goeltom, soon undergo its first trial in the Court of Criminal Acts of Corruption (Corruption).

Head of Public Relations of the Central Jakarta District Court, Sujatmiko, Miranda said the trial will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. "The delegation of the file in question has been received," he told reporters on Monday (7/16/2012).

According Sujatmiko, the hearing will be chaired by Judge Miranda Gusrizal. Gusrizal a trial judge who had led Malinda Dee. "The trial was led by a judge Gusrizal," said Sujatmiko is also a judge at the Corruption Court in Jakarta.

Miranda alleged bribes helped convict's checks, Nunun Nurbaetie, bribing a politician Senayan to win him as Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia. He is considered to violate Article 5, paragraph 1, letter b and Article 13 of Law on Corruption Eradication junto and or Article 55 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code.

KPK deputy chairman, Bambang Widjojanto, said the file was transferred to the Miranda examination tribunal since last week. "Miranda was already transferred the file to the court," Bambang said in his office.

Meanwhile, Miranda's lawyer, Andrew Simangunsong mangatakan Miranda is ready to undergo its first trial. He reiterated his client was not involved as an alleged bribery investigation. "Mrs. Miranda and we're ready. We believe the Commission filed the case is very weak. Miranda was not involved at all in the presence of travel checks," he told reporters via text message.
